Independant junior team leader position

The Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering offers an independant junior research group leader position to creative researchers with a proven track record and wishing to design, synthesize and study complex systems at the molecular level.

The University of Strasbourg - Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering (ISIS, http://isis.unistra.fr/) offers an independent junior research group leader position (tenure faculty track) to creative researchers with a proven track record and wishing to design, synthesize and study complex systems at the molecular level. Topics may range from synthetic methodologies, to analysis of behavior or applications in catalysis / material science and/or chemical biology. The new appointee will be expected to contribute to teaching. The position is located in a highly interdisciplinary state-of-the-art environment at the heart of Strasbourg.

The University of Strasbourg & the Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering

Member of the League of European Research Universities (LERU), the University of Strasbourg (France) is a leading higher education and research institution, labeled as a campus of excellence by the French government since 2011 and recognized on the international stage. Building on 500 years of academic tradition and benefiting from a strong integration into the European research area, the University of Strasbourg carries out research in a broad range of scientific disciplines at the highest level. It is ranked first in Europe in the field of chemistry (Shanghai ranking 2024).

The Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering is a joint research unit of the CNRS and the University of Strasbourg. It conducts multidisciplinary research at the interface between physics, chemistry and biology. It was founded in 2002 by Professor Jean-Marie Lehn, winner of the 1987 Nobel Prize for Chemistry.

ISIS researchers carry out exploratory research in a wide range of scientific fields, focusing on the theme of complex matter. Among the subjects covered at ISIS are nanoscience and materials science, the study of self-organisation processes and adaptive chemistry, nanophotonics, plasmonics and strong light-molecule coupling, supramolecular biomaterials, supramolecular self-assembly, protein chemistry, the chemistry of 2D materials (graphene, etc.), the development of methods for calculating conformation free energies and bond free energies, and the study of the properties of materials. ), the development of methods for calculating conformation free energies and bond free energies, catalysis and quantum physics and computing. This interdisciplinary approach is one of the cornerstones of the Institute's scientific policy and has been the source of many innovations.

ISIS is based on an original structure, built around senior laboratories, junior laboratories and hosted public or private laboratories, thus encouraging interaction between the academic and private sectors.
