Biography  Professor Adrian Salic

Adrian Salic holds a PhD from Harvard University (2000) where he carried out his postdoctoral research (Department of Systems Biology - Harvard Medical School) before being appointed Professor of Cell Biology in 2005. His research group works in two directions: the use of molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology to elucidate the mechanisms involved in communication at the cellular level, and the development of chemical methods for the metabolic labelling and in vivo microscopic visualisation of various biological molecules.

His development of new tools for detecting DNA and RNA synthesis led to the creation of the EdU and EU ‘Click-iT’ commercial kits, which are now widely used in laboratories around the world.

Adrian Salic received the Beckman Young Investigators Award in 2007. He joined ISIS at the University of Strasbourg in 2024.
