Welcome to Irene Regeni, new junior team leader at ISIS!

After a PhD in Germany and a post-doctorate in the Netherlands, Irene Regeni officially joined ISIS on 1 March 2025 to head up her own research team in bioinorganic supramolecular chemistry.

The Institute of Supramolecular Science and Engineering is delighted to welcome a new junior team leader as of 1 March: Irene Regeni, who will be heading up the Bioinorganic Supramolecular Chemistry laboratory. She will be working on the design and synthesis of biocompatible supramolecular architectures. Irene began her academic career at the University of Trieste in Italy, before moving to TU Dortmund and Professor Guido Clever's team (Germany) to pursue her doctorate, during which she was awarded several prizes and scholarships (Kekulé scholarship and the IUPAC-SOLVAY International Award for Young Chemists). She was then awarded a Marie Slodowska Curie Fellowship and a Walter Benjamin Fellowship from the DFG to do her post-doc at the University of Leiden, in Professor Sylvestre Bonnet's group.

Welcome Irene!
