Dr. Christian Serre "Robust functional Metal Organic Frameworks"

Christian Serre est un ingénieur diplômé de l'École Supérieure de Physique et de Chimie Industrielles de Paris. Il a reçu la médaille de bronze du CNRS en 2006, une "Starting Grant" du Conseil européen de la recherche en 2008 et le prix de chimie des solides de la Société chimique de France en 2010. Ses thèmes de recherche portent sur la synthèse, la détermination de la structure et les applications des solides hybrides poreux.

Abstract

At the Institut des Matériaux Poreux de Paris, we have devoted a long-term effort to the synthesis and structural characterization of new functional, robust, porous (and scalable) MOFs based on high valence transition metal cations constructed from various types of ligands (carboxylates, phosphonates, phenolates).[1] Al of Fe carboxylates based MOFs, whose chemistry in solution is “easier” to control, have been extensively explored for gas phase separation or the capture of CO2, assisted eventually by AI,[2] as well as, more recently, for the capture of air pollutants.[3] Other more chemically challenging systems, such as Ti-MOFs, have been investigated due to their unique photocatalytic properties.[4] Zr or Ce(IV) MOFs have been explored as alternative MOFs catalysts, including their preparation under green and mild synthetic routes.[5] Finally, we will show a few insights about our activity in the field of biocompatible nanosized Fe-MOFs and their biomedical applications.[6]
